MICHIGAN DRIVE-IN HISTORY

After going dark for 6 years, Michigan Drive-Ins.com, the Original Site for Michigan Drive-In Theater History, is now back on the web. The Michigan Drive-in Directory page, which lists all 160 Michigan drive-in theaters, is now online. Also, the Open Drive-Ins page, which lists the 10 surviving Michigan drive-in theaters, is available. And finally, the brand new Memory Lane Drive-In in Monroe has a page here as well. Stay tuned right here for more updates as the site is gradually restored. Please support your Michigan Drive-In Theaters, patronize their Snack Bars, and remember to replace the Speaker on the post when you leave the Theater! (8/1/21)

Drive-In Theater Movie Screen Towers have long had a history of being susceptible to weather, and fire. Most early screen towers were constructed from wood, or a combination of wood and steel. They weren’t always durable, and most of them certainly weren’t designed for longevity. Here we will examine some of the screens that didn’t make the cut here in Michigan. At that time is was known as the "Michigan Drive-In Theater Guide", and it was the original site for Michigan Drive-Ins History.
